Pros

- decent compensation and benefits - there are still some brilliant people around - right target and timing for growth

Cons

- increasing tendency to quiet quitting and quiet firing (people who barely pretend to work to prevent being fired, and people who are just kept entertained on the sidelines to make them quit). - terrible communication from the leadership, just showing up for a monthly meeting of overhyped optimism, and a by-weekly e-mail of one or two pages without a concrete real message. - leadership seems to be taking every opportunity they have to quietly remove perks and benefits, just deleting them from the employee guidelines during summer vacations or the first weeks of january, like expecting no one will notice. - brain drain seems to be getting out of hands (no wonder why). - product strategy changes at least once a year, and a lot of work goes to waste when something has to be dropped to pursue just one more headline. - morale hit an all time low during H1 2023, it wasn't uncommon to hear people talking about all their doubts on the prospects of success for the company and the product.

Pros

Ha! That's a good one.

Cons

Can you say "total eclipse"? That most accurately describes the amount of pure darkness (i.e. lack of transparency, accountability, honesty, decency and scruples) within this company. If you want to move your whole life across the country to work in a desert utterly devoid of values and professionalism, an organization that gives you their word and then breaks it at the drop of a hat without the slightest hint of remorse, then Cognite is your huckleberry. This is a place that apparently has no issues with partnering with certain third-parties like background check vendors that violate the privacy and undermine the integrity of their employees, because Cognite's management does exactly the same thing. Some companies enjoy treating their in-house people like chopped liver; Cognite would rather not wait that long. Communication is non-existent and 100% dishonest at the same time. Bad faith business is the order of the day. There's an old saying which says something to the effect that "when you are halfway done with a deal, you still have 99% to close". If you are misfortunate enough to receive and accept any offer of employment from Cognite, take heed: you're not even 0.000001% closer to working one second there. A rotting fish stinks from the head down. One star review = NO STAR REVIEW.
