Pros
There are so many great things I'd like to say about what I have experienced and learned at Coffman! To make this short, sweet and thorough, here are the things that I think make Coffman an excellent employer:
1. Focus on the Individual: Coffman is great at expressing their appreciation for each and every person that works for them. Working here, I don't feel like a cog in a large machine, I feel important and respected. When I come to work I know that what I do matters and those around me feel the same. I am not micromanaged and am able to prioritize my own workload.
2. Great Leadership: Fair, Positive, Cohesive and Professional managers who are easily approachable and down-to-earth.
3. Driven and inspiring upper management who value input from all employees.
4. Excellent benefits package (medical (HSA), Teledoc, dental, vision, life, 401k, AD&D, Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability, Life Assistance Program, paid holidays, paid vacations, parental leave, PTO 401k rollover options, transportation reimbursement (in some offices) and corporate gym discounts).
5. Competitive salary
6. Paid continuous education opportunities including on-the-job training, CRP/First Aid/AED, Webinar Series, Lunch and Learn and college incentives.
7. Wellness Program offering cash incentives
8. Charitable Contributions: Coffman is great at supporting the communities around them with various charitable contributions, including an internal committee in each office who helps manages donation requests. These are done on a local level, not a corporate one.
9. Internal Communications: For me personally, communication at work is extremely important. At this company I never have to chase down unanswered questions or follow-up to make sure something is completed. Throughout the company, people are thorough, timely and professional and that makes my job a whole lot easier.
10. Internal Promotions are offered across multiple levels at Coffman
Cons
I think it would benefit Coffman to look into issuing bi-weekly paychecks instead of a semi-monthly paychecks.
The biggest grip I hear is about the high-deductible HSA. But honestly, it's just something to get used to and Coffman offers a wonderful matching incentive. I personally don't have issue with that part of our benefits.
