Pros

The company provides exciting compensation at the time of recruiting. Employess work remote from home always. Being a startup, there is lot of work and things to learn, which is a good thing but might hinder your work life balance given the odd working hours. You will be monitored continuously for the time you work via apps like hubstaff that take screenshot of your screen every 2-3 minutes and keep a track of time for the period your screen was active. If it does not meet minimum hours criteria, you might have to apply for leaves. The leave policy is not employee friendly, on top of getting fewer leaves than any other company, you don't get leaves for major Hindu festivals. There is a certain level of micromanagement that takes place no matter how much management denies it. The leadership will try to steal credit of your work, and the same leadership will be praised and motivated by the management. Being a small capacity company, there is no communication between the higher management and the lower hierarchy folks. Leadership will always make sure they ignore your good work and pounce on your mistakes and use it against you during appraisals. The leadership can become really toxic, as management backs them and promotes them as management don't want to speak to devs and get the actual feedback, only feedback from leadership is taken at face value. Leadership does not like you taking planned leaves, and call you on teams or phone on the day of your leave and make you feel guilty. During appraisals, toxic leadership can even deny the obvious client praises you received just to put you down. Reporting managers will go to any extent to deny you your deserved promotion/appraisal by downplaying your achievements and exagerating your minor mistakes. During this time, no one has your back, management and HR the least. If you feel like you've been wronged by any higher hierarchical employee, HR or Management won't help you a bit, they will say this old employee is with us for so many years and we cannot do anything here and put it all back on you. The laptop provided to the devs are pretty slow and will hinder work and cause frustration, upon raising a concern, your plea to increase the RAM will be rejected. Leadership will gang up against you during your appraisals, as they all would have only noted on the minor fallbacks in your work and come with lies to reject your client given praises (yes, really). The values 'Respect, Fairness, Excellency, etc` the company( management and leaders) talk about, they themselves are the one who are tearing them apart. Suppose, you're in luck, and your reporting manager is really good, haha, the management would still try to ridicule or oppose his correct evaluation of the reportee. Devs are taken for granted here, their work is not respected. Product owners, Managers take most credit. The company procures clientele by promising short deadline of completion, hence the suffering of the developer. As a new employee, you might get a lot of work and will be praised for it if you fight really hard enough, but it becomes a lost battle as you cross a year. As a dev you can face partiality, where another dev with the same position, skills and experience as you is being groomed for a higher role but not you. There are projects which have absolutely no growth, so much so that in fact working there would make you forget your own base tech stack, and once in it's hard to get out.
