No Steady Flow Of Work - Remote Coder Codebusters Employee Review

Pros

It's remote. Communication is good.

Cons

Dependent on one single company for the majority of their work. That one company seems to screw codebusters around by giving out 2 weeks of work and then pulling the plug (more than one year in a row), leaving the codebusters employees to kook for employment elsewhere. The "2 weeks of work" should have been about 5-6 month of work. At least that's what is told to you in the beginning.

Pros

Not many to be honest. At least they pay you for the time you put in.

Cons

Where to start. This company is so fractured and unorganized it's ridiculous. They are desperate to hire people at their corporate office but will literally hire and fire you without any kind of professional dialogue. If you happen to be a medical coder they will knowingly lead you on about potential projects they have coming up but never do just to keep you on their leash. Their pay rate is substandard, their benefits consist of high rate healthcare premiums and a few days PTO and that's it. I worked there for TWO WEEKS! and was let go in the midst of having to take 2 days PTO during a family emergency. I was never given any kind of deliverables, worked from a crappy laptop that the CEO himself pulled out of a random closet, and most of my time was spent working on random iterations that the CEO himself might spout off at any given moment during the workday. Part of their team is remote and despite communication that is not relevant to you they insist on everyone replying to every single email they receive. Micromanagement is a top priority it appears. Do yourself a favor and don't make the same mistake I did.
