Pros

Cobra provided the opportunity to work with and support some of the largest retail clients in the world, while at the same time as working in a family type atmosphere. Hard work resulted in career advancement and opportunities. Many fantastic and hard working people remain at the company.

Cons

I left the company as the result of an acquisition by another company. Therefore, I really can't give meaningful or helpful counsel about areas which may be improved.

Pros

Some of the positive aspects of working here were most of the employees were very nice and great to work with but there were a few rotten apples as is true with any company, the compensation and benefits were good.

Cons

Some of the negatives include: - Outdated HR policies: i.e. earned vacation time of 2.31 hours per week versus starting out with 15 days like most forward thinking companies, inflexible work schedule with no remote work solution for emergencies. - Company has lacked senior technical leadership for 2-3 years. There is no technical strategy to platform products and as a result products within each category are incompatible with each other. No technical strategy to update existing products to match or exceed competitors which results in inferior products. - No product/marketing portfolio vision: They rely on gimmicky gadgets like key chain locators, portable bluetooth speakers, and cigarette lighter adapters which don't sell. The core product categories are in a state of decline with no new categories to sustain or propel the company into the future. Products lack well defined marketing requirements. - Company lacks a quality initiative, quality processes, and quality awareness internally and with third party vendors. As a result product quality is very low. Just read consumer reviews as proof. Company is behind the times and unable to keep pace with fast changing electronics business. Their competitors do it better in every way. No future here for job growth or job security.
