No training, No Guidance, No Work/Life Balance - General Manager Cobblestone Hotels Employee Review

Pros

Small brand. Possibly grow with the brand.

Cons

No benefits. They do not train you until after you have been at your hotel for several months and struggle trying to figure out what their rules/guidelines are. You aren’t told what your budget is for staff but you are always told to cut hours and that you are over staffed. You will work a lot of front desk hours, hours that are required.

Pros

They have kept me employed since 1994, I've been at front desk person, customer service, a manager, and now I shuttle driver. Although Cobblestone opened in 2008 I have work for Brian since 1994. I'd say everything is a "pro" but that's because they have become family to me. I'd do anything for them and they'd do anything for me.

Cons

"Cons" I'm sure there may be some but in my mind I can't think of one. I have worked for them in Oshkosh, Clintonville, and Neenah

Pros

Discount on stays, access to pool and gym off the clock, discount at the restaurant

Cons

They lied about my job duties during my interview, they cut my hours despite the fact that I was hired for full time, the physical aspects of the job were not included in the job description, they don't have options for "light duties" in the instance that an employee is injured, there's no break room, no fridge or microwave available for employees, no lunch breaks, and when you're working the front desk you're doing the job of 3 people (Front desk, laundry attendant, and houseman), which was NOT listed in the job description.
