Pros

The people were great, the hours were great, profit sharing, benefits.

Cons

The upper management didn't want to listen to your complaints, especially the Area managers. The area I worked in, the area manager had his favorites, and you knew it. The woman who was the Learning and Development Coordinator was amazing, and the way she was treated was deplorable. She trained me and was wonderful. I was pretty upset when she quit, so I left soon after.

Pros

- Profit sharing - Opportunity to advance into management - Generally relaxed working environment in most stores

Cons

- Poor wages, the amount of work you put out is NOT what you get back. If you are considering an entry level position with this company, try looking at your local fast food restaurant first, because they will probably pay you better - The comment replies from Cloverdale's PR are completely inaccurate. On more than one occasion, I or others have reported someone to HR, with absolutely nothing happening. There's a reason why everyone at Cloverdale jokes around that "it's impossible to get fired at Cloverdale". The initial response from Head Office is to cover their own butts when something happens. This is similar to any big corporation, and Cloverdale might as well just admit they are not a "small family owned business" anymore, but actually a bloodsucking leech of a corporation. - they protected a misogynistic sales rep out of the Red Deer area from getting fired. He repeatedly verbally abused staff and higher-ups from the credit department, but he was protected from being fired and still is employed with the company to this day. Any company that protects abusive misogynists should be ashamed of their practices - Head Office is essentially like the blind leading the blind. No one ever knows what is going on, or what the plan is. I'm sure this is why you were hacked as badly as you were. It was unconscionable to not notify your customers of this hack, as their personal information could have been stolen! - So much conflict of interest at Head Office. Having the owner's son and daughter running departments elicits an environment of fear, in which higher-ups are afraid to "cross the line" in asking them for anything. This causes not only confusion but fear-based practices. If you want a fair playing ground, which you claim you have, then this is not the way to go about it.
