Pros

People are sincere, smart, fun, and lovely.

Cons

CEO (Matthew) micro-manages product, which creates a lot of internal chaos. Companies can be nimble AND sane. On the 3-point scale of Abdication-Delegation-Micromanagement, Matthew is far over on the side of Micromanagement... which impacts every team, and at this point in Cloudflare's growth just is not necessary to remain competitive. Cloudflare also does not support professional development for management—so if you're a manager matriculating up to a Director role, you get no guidance beyond legal Teflon, for hiring managers. The CEO insists they pay people enough to fund their own growth support—but that's not an industry standard, and from a billionaire with poor management skills, himself, it's kind of chin-rubby.

Pros

- Strong platform - Mostly friendly and smart people - Good salary, but substandard benefits

Cons

- Strong culture of favoritism: if you’re not an OG or coming in from Palo Alto, you’ll face an uphill battle in sales. - Sales culture is terribly toxic, political, and cliquey, especially with the Palo Alto Networks invasion. - Ridiculous internal processes and poorly designed tools (still use more spreadsheets than tools, quotes can take weeks and I’m not kidding) - Zero sales tools (No Outreach, Gong, good luck even getting Zoom Info) - Substandard BDR team with 12:1 ratios of BDR to AE. Got zero set meetings in over 1 year with our team’s BDR.
