Pros
Industry is growing like crazy and Cloudability is well positioned to capture the market. Despite some typical startup sales excitement, we're growing quickly and the business is moving in a great direction. Senior Management (CEO and CTO) is experienced and above average in terms of competency. I've never been through a less disruptive fund-raising round and the quarterly strategic direction changes are minimal. Lots of opportunity to learn and grow. The industry is evolving rapidly and we're all encouraged to keep on top of it. If you want it, you'll have the opportunity to wear a lot of hats and contribute to the business in a variety of ways. Good salary/benefits. You can definitely achieve healthy work/life balance here. The culture is geared towards giving you the autonomy to get your job done on your own terms.
Cons
The silos are real. Particularly on the engineering team, there is an unfortunate division between the Portland and Boulder offices which has been exacerbated by some questionable promotions. A decent portion of the company has worked together previously, so if you're not part of that crew, it often feels like you're on the outside looking in. This is most noticeable in the assumed competency of a handful of teams/individuals based on prior actions and not at all related to their contributions since joining Cloudability. At times it feels like we're too focused on the day-to-day tactical decisions and responding to the competition at the expense of developing a longer-term strategic vision.
