Pros

Really nice people and fun sales team.

Cons

Disclaimer: This review is being written to bring awareness to what you're signing up for, not as a smear campaign from a disgruntled former employee. I left on my own volition. Everything below is 100% true. In the interview process we (as in the entire new hire class) were told that everyone is hitting quota, the company is taking off, and that there is ample opportunity for us to grow in our careers and make a lot of money in the process. This could not be further from the truth. Poor leadership has led to mass layoffs and reps quitting regularly (team has dramatically reduced in size, while claiming to be a high-growth start-up). They hired too many reps without the proper backend support. Sales reps spend the vast majority of their time helping onboard new clients instead of working to build more pipeline. Quotas are raised regularly, regardless of team performance. The quotas are grossly unattainable, less than 5% of reps hit quota (most of the time 0%). This was true at the time of hiring as well. They raise quota to reduce sales reps pay, they don't actually expect you to hit your number. This was made clear when a new comp plan was sent out via email at 9pm at night, with no prior notice, where they nearly doubled quota, after 0% of the team hit the former number. This resulted in a 25% paycut to the entire sales specialist staff so the company could "reduce our cost to acquire new customers." The company runs so lean that they are incapable of supporting the relatively small amount of drivers that are on the platform. They capitalize on taking advantage of newer drivers that are still learning the ropes and are not able to recognize that the CT offering is no different than the rest. They are just another run-of-the-mill trucking company offering insurance coverage for their drivers, but they have an app and are cloud-based, which provides little to no real benefit. CT continues to make incompetent business decisions and seems to be destined for failure. I would not recommend this job to anyone.

Pros

You get to work with a lot of very talented and friendly people.

Cons

Communication is strictly one-sided. Leadership from Operations to Sales lacks accountability, often resorting to aggressive, top-down mandates. There is visible favoritism regarding promotions and workload distribution, while the broader team faces unrealistic demands. Leadership frequently enforces product directions that are fundamentally flawed. Despite team pushback, we are forced to execute on these ideas, only for the work to be scrapped later. This has led to significant product failures. There is no transparent structure for career advancement. The "performance review" cycle feels performative, with raises capped at 3% regardless of contribution. This does not keep up with inflation or the increasing workload. Job security is non-existent. We have endured three rounds of layoffs in the past 2.5 years. Most recently, on September 26, 2025, the company laid off 43% of the staff. The environment has deteriorated significantly over the last 2 years. Remote work has been revoked, and "Unlimited PTO" is effectively capped at two weeks. Engineering is severely under-resourced, making it impossible to build a quality product.
