Pros

- Team-focused, clients-first, entrepreneurial, work hard/play hard culture - High energy, intelligent, hard-working team across all business units - Supportive leadership prioritizing health/wellness, diversity, social impact, etc. (i.e. weekly team fitness classes, donation matching program) - Great working environment: incredible views of the pacific ocean, paid lunches

Cons

- Open office trading floor format is definitely the industry standard, but not the most productive structure for some people - Very fast paced environment is motivating, but can create occasional burn out.

Pros

Great company culture! Very collaborative, supportive environment. Amazing opportunities to connect with some of the smartest minds in finance, economics, and beyond. Ideal environment for young, entrepreneurial, quick learners.

Cons

Can be a tough environment for junior employees requiring more guidance and hand-holding. Pro or a con depending on your personality type!

Pros

Reputable firm-good name to have on your resume Catered Lunches Casual Dress code

Cons

Goldman hours with NONE of the perks-low salary, bare minimum benefit package-only medical, no vision or dental, 401k but no matching. They do not reimburse for the use of personal cell phones which is a violation of CA labor law 2802. Poor Work-Life Balance- Expected to work the day before and after Thanksgiving as well as the week between Christmas and New Years. Unlimited PTO but people rarely utilize this because they are afraid of falling behind/looking bad No flex spending account Cliquey office culture- different rules for different teams. (AVOID IR team, Mean Girls meets corporate is their vibe) Management cares more about the perception of being "cool, casual, inclusive, and diverse" then actually implementing policies or hiring practices that facilitate this. Partners are all CIS men and predominately white, women are in support or junior roles. Clocktower is an unwelcoming environment for black, hispanic, LGBTQIA individuals, or anyone who did not come from privilege , attend top universities or is not able-bodied. High turnover rate-management is bad at retaining people and are not transparent about personnel changes.

While we disagree with your characterization of the firm, we appreciate that as a firm we may not get everything right. We look to continuously make improvements and truly value our employees and their experience at Clocktower. Since your departure almost four years ago, we have continued to add to our benefits package, including a 401k matching program, among others. We do indeed reimburse for business-required cell phone usage and, although we are a finance company and align with stock market holidays, we do afford a lot of flexibility around major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years, and generally throughout the year. We actively promote a culture where employees are encouraged to prioritize their work/life balance and take well-deserved time off. We have always valued diversity within the firm and think we stand out, especially in the finance industry. The firm is now 60% female overall, with half of our senior employees being female as well. We have also continued to hire team members from diverse backgrounds and strive to be a welcoming and inclusive firm for all individuals. We appreciate your compliment on Clocktower being a reputable firm as we have always strived to operate with the utmost respect and appreciation for our employees and clients. We pride ourselves on our team-oriented work approach and look to foster an environment for innovation.
