Don't listen to the haters, this is the best job I've ever had - Software Engineer Clinkle Employee Review

Within my first hour of my first visit coming onsite at Clinkle, I was a firm believer in the product as well as the quality of the team. I am incredibly optimistic about the outlook of this company. Working here, I have had the ability to be very hands on and to help build out the infrastructure and business logic that will be the basis of our system. The team leaders (including recently hired VP Engineering!!) are awesome and allow for a lot of room to be creative and hands on with different projects. in order to recruit (especially for engineers which we really need!) we have to deal with the negative press that is out there. However, as I said before, if we can get someone onsite, they tend to be very interested.

The people that work there are some of the smartest, most talented people you will ever meet. Free lunch, dinner, and snacks. Great product. Nice SF location. Clinkle, like most startups, requires you to have a bigger role in the company than you would at a larger, public company. As a result, you will learn a lot from working there. Again, the people are great. They have done a great job of hiring the most intelligent, hard working people you will ever meet. On top of all of that, they're friendly, too.

Most employees are overworked and (sometimes severely) underpaid. They had two rounds of massive layoffs in a 3 month span. There is no longer any job security at this company. There is little to no transparency in the company. For a while, many Clinkle employees were working without having ever seen a full demo of the product. Many employees didn't have health benefits. Many people that were promised equity never received it. Product launch is always "two months from now." The company is not very diverse. There is only one female engineer, and most of the women at Clinkle have either been laid off or are working the roles of receptionist, office assistant, or personal assistant to the CEO.
