Pros

Pay is good, benefits are great and quarterly bonuses

Cons

Understaffed on the hourly side every where, scheduled on days off, forced to stay for 18 hour turns regularly. There is no accountability for calling off from work for union employees, which causes the 18 hour days. If you are a salary manager be prepared to be cussed at and yelled at every day and you have no recourse. Upper management doesn’t have a clue and is fearful to tour the facility because of what is said to them, ie cussed out and yelled at too. The place has a 50-50 mix of people who care and work hard and 50% who do the minimum amount to not get fired, hourly and salary side. Salary people live in fear of saying what is on their mind because of retribution.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you value the benefits offered and we are happy to provide them to our hardworking employees. We also understand that the steelmaking industry can be demanding with our operations running 24 hours a day, seven days a week. COVID-19 has created staffing issues that are affecting us and plaguing the entire country. The general labor shortage is closely connected to the challenges we’re experiencing in our operations right now. We are committed to improving it and getting to a better place from a staffing perspective.
