Pros

This is the perfect job for me as I like to work hard but also have flexible, remote hours. It is demanding, and excellence is one of the core values. There is a corporate culture of professional and personal responsibility, so expectations are high. This is a great job is you want to learn, grow and do more - those opportunities are always there and are rewarded. Our team members are really great and everyone supports each other so we can all succeed, individually and as a company. For a fully-remote team, there is a lot of collaboration and team unity, and that is a hard thing to achieve.

Cons

This is not the job for you if you want to do the bare minimum and just get by. The people who do well are self-motivated, so if you need daily structure like time sheets, and are not good at figuring things out on your own or problem solving, this may not be for you.

Pros

- Permanent work-from-home setup - Flexible working hours - Good company culture and great people to work with - Great leadership and open management - Unlimited PTO - Competitive salary and great benefits

Cons

As we are working from home, we have minimal personal interaction, but still, the company is awesome for setting up an annual meet-up with everyone.

Pros

Working Remote and learning more about tax

Cons

My Experience as a Tax Preparer at Cleer Tax Working at Cleer Tax was a revealing experience that highlighted the importance of competent management and meaningful support in a remote work environment. Despite being hired for my expertise, I often found myself navigating unclear expectations and a lack of understanding from leadership—particularly around the logistics of productivity and the realities of working with international remote staff. There was a consistent failure to engage in clarifying dialogue. Instead of seeking understanding, management often made assumptions and moved forward without resolving key issues. This created confusion, especially when dealing with clients who submitted incorrect Annual Financial Statements (AFS). Rather than supporting a collaborative approach to guide clients, the assistance felt one-sided and undervalued. What was most disappointing was witnessing a colleague with no tax background receive more structured support and education, while experienced professionals were left to fend for themselves. It’s one thing to leave a job for better pay, but it’s another to be discarded without regard for your contributions. I share this not out of bitterness, but to offer insight to others considering employment here. If you value clear communication, professional respect, and a supportive environment, I encourage you to ask the hard questions before committing.
