Pros

Ok Medical (no HMO option and Kaiser would have been a better choice; but Anthem BlueCross PPO isn't too bad) 401k w/ matching is nice Work with Smart people (assuming they trust and like you) Ability to work from home on occasion Ability to move around between the 3 locations as you want

Cons

Office Politics are big here. The company is doing some major "restructuring" and they've let go a lot of people and the people running the show are all new and not really sure what they want. They tell you one thing and do another, they say they want one thing but then want something else. The people that are left behind are jaded, nervous, etc. they've been through a lot. A lot of people are either looking for another job or will stab you in the back to help ensure they keep theirs. They're also not very good at communicating what it is they want or if they have a problem with you. They'll just surprise you and let you go out of the blue w/o warning or any chance to fix it. They don't do employee evaluations very much, just "surprise, you weren't aligned with the office atmosphere, you're out" If you don't like playing the office politics game and don't want to hang out with your boss in the evenings and weekends then you may have problems The company has two halves that seem almost separate. They have 2 different ticketing systems, 2 different monitoring systems, 2 different instant messaging systems, 2 different domains, 2 different VPN's, etc. It's like taking 2 companies and jamming them side-by-side and calling it one company even though each has their own completely different set of tools. You will find yourself logged into 2 different vpn's watching 2 different ticketing systems and getting messaged across 2 different IM programs. It's really crazy. Every-time you ask why things are the way they are, you'll get a backstory. But trying to merge the 2 systems is a very long and slow going process. Bureaucracy. Lots of red tape. Trying to implement the simplest of changes, changes that will improve conditions, gets talked about for weeks, months, gets discussed, compared, Pro's and Con's, etc. and then trying to get budget approval is a whole 'nother ordeal. Meetings. Seriously, lots and lots of meetings. It's amazing anything gets done because a lot of a person's time is spent in various back-to-back meetings. I think they could use a end-of-day meeting to summarize all the day's meetings.
