Pros

Lady run, professional demeanour, promote natural products, provide training to new cleaners, responsive to staff and affiliates.

Cons

Professionalism and positive attitudes of management are heavily conditional and quickly diminish once staff (or contractors in my case) express desire to leave; schedule changes constantly and unpredictably and the onus is on the cleaners to constantly refresh their schedule as staff does not inform them of changes - act like this is normal. It is not! Cleaning is a tough industry as many people must cancel or are looking for last minute cleans, so last minute schedule changes are certainly not unheard of. However, with this company, for whatever reason, these changes were constant, to the point that it would be nearly impossible to make any other commitments. To pair with it, management is not flexible in their attitudes toward providing time off or accommodating their cleaners. It seems they are only out for number one. This is further confirmed in their behaviour once they learn that a cleaner plans on leaving the company. Management's positive demeanour and "ladies helping ladies" attitude disappears, and it seems that they are unable to maintain professional, cordial correspondence. I have been waiting for my final paycheque now for two weeks since the date I was told it had been sent out in cheque form; and I learned this only after e-mailing and waiting several days for a reply. Then, a week later to the day, after still not having received my final cheque (which for a struggling student is a significant amount of money - bills were not paid on time) I was informed that the cheques were still being processed and would be sent out the coming week. A week later, having STILL not received anything, I inquired once more - still waiting on response. It is as though once Clean POV determines that there is nothing more they can gain from you, they completely change their tune, throwing all of the "ladies" and "family" as they refer to their team under the bus with little concern. So, just take their positivity and claims to be professional with a grain of salt, and know that as soon as you stop serving their interests they may become evasive, and it will be like pulling teeth to get information about money owed to you.

Pros

Easy money, but that's the only pro I can think of

Cons

The owner claims she is flexible with your schedule, however, it has been proven many times that she is not. When an "employee" calls in sick they risk losing their job. Everyone is a contractor so she can save money, however, everything points to them being employees. She is unaware of the law regarding this. Makes her weekly newsletters about herself rather than her company. Talks negatively about certain employees to other employees. Has unrealistic expectations for cleaners to get from one end of the city to another to complete jobs. Very unprofessional when a complaint is made against her, instead of taking the criticism lightly and looking to make herself better she goes into defence mode. Honestly, the list goes on, if you don't want someone talking poorly about you once you quit and potentially ruining any future chances you have at cleaning then don't work for Clean POV.

Pros

Flexible hours and nice co-workers, some really great clients.

Cons

Inconsistency in bookings make budgeting or working outside of the company impossible. Charges for 'supplies' and punitive charges a real negative. Changes in scheduling can happen overnight and refusal of that work can lead to cash penalties and wage deductions. Very confused business model, unclear whether we were employees or sub-contractors. Lots of fluffy words, very little substance.
