Pros

I worked for Classic from 2015-17 and really enjoyed the work and my co-workers. In that time I earned a couple reward trips to some of our luxury properties in Mexico, got to take a work trip to the Dominican Republic, and won a Rookie of the Year award which also came with a trip to a 5 star resort in. I took some time away to live abroad, but stayed in contact with management and some of the friends I'd made there, and when I knew I'd be coming back I reached out to see if I could be rehired. They were helpful and happy to have me back, and coming back into the office and seeing everyone's faces again really felt like a happy reunion. I truly enjoy my position as a Travel Sales Specialist. It's a call center-type job, but there's no cold calling and when I am talking to the travel agents who call in about our product I don't feel like I'm pushing anyone to do anything they're hesitant about. I feel very knowledgeable about our products because the training is very thorough, and we have a high standard for both our product line and our customer service. If I come up against a new or difficult situation I always feel like I can get help from someone in the strong network the company has built in the last 25+ years -- some of the employees have been with the company since the beginning, which is always a great sign. It is very easy to move into other departments if you find your skills and interests lean elsewhere, and they are very good about promoting from within. I find that the job has enough variety to keep me interested day to day, and you should be prepared for a mix of high and low energy, depending on the season. They do lots of themed events to raise morale and help team members feel appreciated. The parent company is Expedia, and they offer 401K investment matching up to 6%. The health benefits are pretty good, and they also offer a wellness reimbursement, travel discounts and reimbursements, and more. The company has a great reputation with our preferred partner hotels, so if you stay with them you receive excellent treatment.

Cons

The pay structure has changed a few times since 2015, but hopefully their newest system will stick around for a while. There were times that I was not able to afford my rent despite being a top seller, but at the time I was in their main office in San Jose, which does have some of the highest living costs in the world. Sometimes the goals that they set for us seem a little ambitious given the actual day-to-day life on the phones, but I do feel like I can bring my complaints to management and be heard. It can feel frustrating on days when it seems like you're only cleaning up and changing other people's bookings and not making new bookings of your own, but that's part of the job.

Pros

Supportive, Growth-Oriented Culture with True Work-Life Balance As a Business Development Manager at Classic Vacations, I’ve found the company to be an incredibly supportive and inspiring place to grow professionally. The culture is open, inclusive, and genuinely welcoming from leadership to operations, and there’s a strong sense of team synergy and mutual respect. Work-life balance is not just encouraged here; it’s embedded in the culture. Classic understands that thriving at work means having time and space outside of it, which makes a significant difference in morale and productivity. What truly sets Classic apart is its commitment to equity, inclusion, and internal advancement. There are multiple pathways to grow within the organization, and leadership is genuinely receptive to employee input. Management is not only accessible but actively welcomes feedback and embraces change, creating space for innovation and fresh ideas. The level of cross-departmental collaboration is one of the best I’ve experienced. It’s a company where every voice is heard and where professional development is truly a shared goal.

Cons

Some systems could be more integrated to improve workflow efficiency across departments. With growth, internal communication can occasionally lag — more consistent cross-team updates would help. Pace of change can be slow due to layered approval processes, though intentions are strong.

Cons

CEO is a micromanager getting into day to day needs of employees causing a lot of people to leave.
