Pros

• The mission to 'change the world the way learns' sounds motivating. • Lots of need during COVID, and perhaps need will increase down the road as more schools/organizations embrace hybrid learning. • Remote-first company; option to work from WeWork.

Cons

• Senior Leadership: They are mostly former Blackboard folks whose thinking has not evolved much since 1997. Beyond that, there is zero accountability for senior leadership. They speak to one another in an echo chamber without hearing from or considering other employees; feedback is given but not acted upon. • Lack of Success: Progress to goals is not widely discussed for good reason. It doesn't feel good to be on a consistently losing team. Morale is low, yet remains unaddressed. Huge area of opportunity. • Growth: Very little opportunity for growth; although, you will be asked to take on more and more outside of your job description as the teams become more and more lean. There was an attempt to roll out a feedback cycle and approach leveling ("Grow Our Classmates") but that initiative quickly fell onto the back burner. •Benefits: No 401k matching and incredibly expensive yet basic healthcare.

Pros

Great founder, leadership team, peers. Mission-drive opportunity.

Cons

Competing priorities but I'm aware this applies to most startups.

Pros

Class is backed by prominent Zoom board members and investors, including current Zoom board member Santi Subotovsky, and education and technology leaders like SoftBank.

Cons

Anyone who has actually worked here will tell you that the C-Suite people are the worst. They make awful decisions and push their will on employees. They also hire people in bunches and then fire them for no reason. It was a terrible mess. They tried to hide their incompetence, but most of us could see through that easily. They even made fake promises of changing things moving forward, but that never happened. Most employees still live with the fear of layoffs there. These horrible people also set insane quotas and expected employees to meet those quotas by using any possible means. It was terribly stressful to try to meet the unrealistic goals. I walked away when I realized they wouldn't change or be reasonable.
