Pros

One great company 2 different locations for me. I started out at Michaelangelos our sister restaurant with some amazing managers and employees Todd loves to lend a helping hand on a busy Friday or Saturday and is my favorite person to see on Sunday. Maddie is a more laid back manager who loves to be funny and keep everyone laughing I don’t know what I would do without her. AL on the other hand is more business like when it comes to being a manager and I love that about him. I don’t have favorites at michaelangelos but Annette is the best person to work with in our family. She’s so caring as a person has an amazing bright personality. I am not sure what I would do if i didn’t have my Michaelangelos family if it wasn’t for them I would have never met Dan. I am just so thankful to Maddie and Todd for taking a chance on me and seeing my bright potential for the Bistro. I decided that I wanted 90 hours a week and to do that I had to get second job, but finding another company that fits your needs isn’t easy let alone one that is as amazing as the company you already work for. Grindstone on the Monon is a different concept than the Bistro. Dan was pleased to have me and welcomed me with wide open arms, Eric on the other hand is a little bit more serious versus relaxed like Dan but that’s ok he fun to work with and helps when I am starting to get busy at the host stand. Holly is a bit more relaxed and quiet but knows when she is needed and offers as much help as she can. The best parts of my day are what Dan calls morning pleasantries he makes his morning rounds to make sure everyone is good to go for the day and that we are all set up for success. Even if the sun isn’t shining the managers will make sure the day is as bright as can be. Here at Clancys Inc we are just one big family who works well with each other like 2 peas in a pod. Icing on the cake. Now I don’t have favorites at the Monon but George is an amazing cook with a bright personality who loves to joke around and make everyone laugh. I often see the owners in the restaurant they have there favorite tables. One rare thing you won’t find in any other company that you will find here is how helpful the owners can be in lending a helping hand. Whether I have to use the ladies room, bussing a table or even walking guests to there table I have found many times that Blake is willing to assist me at the host stand when I have stepped away for a quick moment in any way needed as a owner he is very hands on. How often does your Owner or even the CEO of a company lend a helping hand? How often does your manager ask how he may be able to make your day better or to help it go smoothly. Lots of thank you and your welcomes around here and many smiles in the family. We love to laugh and joke around. If morning pleasantries sounds like something to you then we would love to have you in the family come join us at the Bistro and the Monon.

Pros

Good money, fun coworkers, the Fountain room is run by the top servers/bartenders.

Cons

The GM is inexperienced and is frustratingly indifferent to inspire, lead, or improve the service skills of her employees at a fine dining restaurant. She also seems to only care about making herself look impressive to the owners. For example, she tries to take over the cocktail menu and ends up making cocktail flavors that are incompatible, and asks the bartenders to fix them for her. The other two salaried managers simply don't do anything other than guard the host stand. All the managers seem too eager to talk about how incompetent the owners are and are less eager to give an effort to improve the skills and the morale of the employees. To wit: it is a debilitating failure in leadership which will continue to cost the company money.
