Pros

High expectations for work with youth, which is hard to find in non-profits. Gain strong teamwork, management, and leadership skills. Excellent fit for anyone looking to work in education.

Cons

Not an easy place to work for those with young children--flexibility is sometimes needed in terms of hours. Working in urban education is challenging for anyone. Not a place you will get rich, or anything close to it.

Pros

You do very meaningful work and the staff truly care about you and what you are doing.

Cons

School placements can be quite far from where you live, and the days are long (7:30 am - 5 pm). Often is exhausting, but you stay for the kids.
