Stable company.Look at optimizing product groups with clearer decision-making and better integration of product management and engineering. At the end of the day, product groups (incl marketing and engineering) are still 20-70 people, very manageable units. You don't have to concede product development to competitors. Too much compromise
Cons
compensation and career advancement. Only lateral movement moving from one group to the other, absolutely ridiculous policy. there should be really an incentive for people to move from one position to the other. I did an prestigious MBA program, then when I finish, there is absolutely no upside to move within Cisco. The HR did not find an easy way for me to find a new and exciting opportunity. So I left.
