Pros

CT is the place to be. I feel super supported in my role, management is hands-off and allows me lots of independence to complete tasks, and if I do have questions, help is easy to find. The team is close-knit, and the culture is incredible. Training is baked into the schedule and budgets so you can learn new skills. A yearly retreat really gels our two offices together. You get all the tools you need to succeed, and management is great about asking if you have everything you need to do a good job. Your hours are respected and flexible. If you need to take time away, no problem, and overtime work is never forced.

Cons

It's not for everyone — it really does feel like we're a 'family,' but I mean that in the best way. It's not always clear how to increase your salary, but this has been improving. The benefits package could be better, and potentially include retirement/pension aspects, but for a small business, it's quite good.

Pros

-excellent, talented, ambitious, and creative people to work with -great central Ottawa/Glebe location -diverse list of clients, so a diverse amount of work is available -good place to start to figure out what direction your career should take, if an agency atmosphere is right for you, and what you do and do not want out of an office job

Cons

-poor communication. The owner establishes rules for communication and conflict resolution but rarely follows through -owner tries to pit employees against one another, rather than fostering the "team environment" she talks about -owner has zero experience in marketing/advertising; many times a campaign will be built on shaky foundation -no HR department to allow for unbiased conflict resolution -owner more concerned about image/aesthetics than growing a powerful team -owner rarely recognizes achievements made on behalf of her staff to better the company
