Pros
Kind Production, Fabrication Staff (miss them all!) Management are mostly, if not all, women identified (this, in my time there, seemed to have been calculated, read Cons* to understand more). Early hours and schedule flexibility
Cons
Intense, aggressive micromanaging and unhealthy tone is set by Executive. Co-workers constantly confessed their frustrations with the lack of collaboration allowed by "C" level executive. There was an internal understanding that the reason why most of the personnel in management identified as women (which differs largely when most of the shop personnel identify as men) was because it allowed for an unhealthy level of subordination and manipulation by C. This unspoken truth was, and is, obvious as you enter this space, it is felt by the women in management, in coordination and in Production. In meetings with "C", management came across as intimidated, afraid, unable to speak and ideate and mostly, kept their heads down. Teams were defied when they did not agree with the direction or approach set by "C". This could be focused on high level conversations as well as the color and exact font on an Org Chart (for example). Teams are expected to agree with such direction, have answers quickly and efficiently without much room for error. If an error or challenge came up, teams were mocked; sometimes with laughter, straight-on intimidating stares, no matter who was in attendance. It felt safer to sit quiet than to speak. This approach did not allow for healthy employees or a safe work environment. This, plus the lack of systems available to properly plan, detail and secure Projects, made this a very reactive, hostile, stressful work environment. The Projects struggled as the financial planning of such is done POORLY, robust systems are lacking, consistency in the way systems are used is lacking, inexperienced resources are used to run major projects, and the micromanaging is expansive. There seems to be no appetite for streamlining and growing the Company to match today's world. When experienced resources were brought on as part of the Company, they were shut down as they recommended the development of new, streamlined systems & approaches. I don't give negative reviews, I rarely review things but I felt so strongly about the way this Company is running that I felt the responsibility to share. I wish I can say more, specifically about Diversity and Inclusion, but for now this is all.
