Pros

For the most part, your coworkers (non-upper management) are great and some of the best people you'll ever meet. The team building events and free lunches are nice.

Cons

Forget about getting paid what would be considered market value. The longer you're there, the farther you are from what you should be getting paid. The company is super stingy about giving titles and raises and would rather hire out. When you bring this up as a concern, they basically tell you that they don't want you there anyways. Upper management is the perfect example of smoke and mirrors. They tell you what they think you want to hear and make everything seem like it's great. This company doesn't give out annual bonuses and instead tries to sell it's profit sharing plan which is a joke. The distribution of profit share units is absurd and despite your length of tenure, it will never change. They constantly make up excuses and refuse to provide visibility. They want to be part of every discussion and email you at all times of the day, yet have very little to offer in terms of moving projects forward. The HR department is a joke and completely disconnected from the team. They'll spend more time drinking wine than trying to solve the company's problems or at the very least, listen to it's employees and take their concerns seriously.

I want to thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. It is so nice to hear that you appreciate your former teammates and you want to make a better place for them. Thanks for your advice as well. We have rolled out a survey to help make sure we address not only your feedback but all of our current employees as well. The Profit Sharing Units (PSU’s) you mention were supposed to emulate an annual Bonus to show our success from the most recent fiscal year and change upon promotion. But that does not excuse us from the fact that it was not clear and descriptive. We want open communication that allows clear, immediate, and noticeable change. Thank you for the feedback, and we hope to keep the changes positive for our employees moving forward. - Natasha, HR Generalist

Pros

Cie is an organization full of talented individuals who are experts in their field. No matter the title, Cie's leaders give you a seat at the table. They encourage you to share ideas and try new things. I've never learned so much under one roof. Challenges days exist at Cie, but boring ones do not. There is no other team that you would want in your corner.

Cons

No cons come to mind.

Pros

Are they a startup incubator, a content marketing agency, or a venture studio? No one at the company even knows! If you want to work with a bunch of incompetent people give Cie a try! Leadership constantly shifts the company’s priorities, chasing buzzwords and trends rather than fostering a clear and focused strategy. This leaves teams scrambling to hit moving targets, often without proper guidance or resources. There’s little to no long-term planning, which results in projects being abandoned or pivoted at the whim of the execs. Employees are treated like expendable assets, not valued contributors. Promotions and opportunities handed out based on favoritism rather than merit. Meanwhile, truly talented people either burn out or get laid off without performance evaluations.

Cons

No room for any professional growth

Thank you, your feedback is noted. Cie's mission is to build and grow innovative companies that solve real-world problems. This requires constant adaptation, and our current unique approach - blending startup incubation, venture building, and corporate partnerships - is intentional. It’s embracing change that has allowed us to drive meaningful impact since 1998. That adaptability has led to real results: we created Cie Games, which was acquired by GluMobile for $100M in 2013; we launched Nativo, which patented native advertising and raised $32M in funding; we built ASAP Tire, which was acquired in 2018; and we grew Titan School Solutions, which was acquired by LINQ for $75M. These are just a few examples of how our ability to evolve has fueled success. Clarity and stability are important, and we continuously refine how we operate to balance both. Growth at Cie is based on impact, leadership, and the ability to develop others. We prioritize promoting from within and ensuring our team members have opportunities to contribute in meaningful ways. We’re proud of what we’ve built and remain committed to fostering an environment where driven individuals can thrive.
