Pros
The job itself brings out the talent in yourself, its very demanding and you have to be very self driven, if you have those keys you might make it there. Their are some really smart people in that building, just not enough. Good Health plan. Great transitional place to work, I would attempt to make it long term, I don't believe in building someone else's dream will mine gets further away.
Cons
Even if you're one of the best in the building, if you're not "gung-ho" Choptank life, you will never find yourself in the inner circle (where you need to be to really develop a good career). They ask your opinions to improve things but then grill you for voicing that opinion. My focus on this portion is simple, you can go in there and make the company as much money as you possibly can, if you run even slightly against the grain you will never feel valued. Simple thank you's and awards are not what Sales people look for. Awards and Thanks do not pay the bills, while they offer competitive pay, be honest, you're on the eastern shore MD. There isn't a lot to compete with. Their Comp plan was just revised and while i see both sides of it, my comp was cut 47%. Keep in mind the plan or "dream" they sell you on the front end is always subject to change so you never really know what you will end up with, even if you work through the nights, show up early and on the weekends, dedication and hard work will not pay off when the company changes their plans to improve themselves and those in the inner circles. Mid management is more like micromanagement, what i would call mid level managers, they have something to prove to continue their career and get promoted, however they do not care who they off or ruin along the way. Life/Work balance is non existent, i don't think this is the companies fault its just the line of work. You never actually check out of that place, and if you go on a vacation, you might as well call that week a loss to you. BIGGEST KEY - No matter what you do, how hard you work, how great you are, the outcome goes into several others hands to see it through, your great work will not always reflect you in that light when others fall short. When others fall short, there is no recourse for them. If they fall out of SOP it does not matter some how it will be your fault and it was for you to manage.
