Pros

Work abroad, work with some big brands in the drinks industry, have some fun

Cons

Very few graduates will be taken on after the program. So it’s not really a good career path nor does it nurture talent for the company. In my experience, the BA role is really a stand-alone role, with little opportunity to upskill into marketing. The value a Grad BA currently brings to market is very sketchy (they’re grads), but it’s made worse by the often isolation of the job, and vagueness of the job function.

Pros

Pernod Ricard has some big brands and lots of resources to push them

Cons

I would say to be cautious, if you are considering joining the BA intl grad programme. Its very easy in the beginning to get swept up in the hysteria as everyone tells you its the dream job. For most, its certainly not the case. The job more closely resembles a travelling stage performer who's only material is to reel off the same marketing nonsense again and again; and to get pissed with strangers on a regular basis. It gets old quickly. The most important thing to note, is that once a BA, it is not easy to make the jump into another role. It is a low skill position, with little retention rate after the programme. This can leave many people caught in a tricky position for their career after they leave.
