Pros

Great Coworkers, flexible scheduling, free shift cookie and drink, some discounts given. Good seasonal Job

Cons

This company has a lack of consistency and compassion for their employees. For a $15 job they expect you to do all of the duties of a shift lead or even a manger. Counting the drawer every night, inventory every week, placing catering orders and if you dare get it wrong immediate call to the store. They have live cameras that seem to watch everything you do. Can't even be on our phones when we're properly away from public eye and a customer doesn't step foot in the store for more than an hour. Days off are barely accumulated and going on that, corporate offices are closed on holidays that physical stores still have to remain open, albeit a couple of hours. No holiday pay or time and a half for working those days as well. Its easy to move up in the company but with that goes with more baggage that isn't worth the stress. Make them annoyed enough and you're getting a right up for not wiping down the counters properly and leaving barely there footprints on the ground after close. There is no competitive, you stay the same pay unless you become a shift lead, in which you have to dedicate 32 hours a week for. That's a rule just implemented because they had shift leads and higher working in the company making that pay but only working 1-2 days a week. Don't stay for the long run unless you're only working two days a week, that way you can ignore all the crap going on in the company. The company is tight on the stores not having a lot of waste at the end of the night which is understandable. That feeling however gets thrown out the window when they discipline employees for taking said waste home at the end of the night and not give a method of handing out cookies at the end of the night. Have to throw all cookies out because taking them is stealing. Wonderful. This is a good entry level job to start out with if you want first hand experience on what a bad American company is like when they finally have adult money to spend.

Pros

Chip City has been a great experience so far - lots of opportunity to share new ideas and get things done in a short period of time without the red tape of a large organization. Lots of energy and a great product!

Cons

Priorities can shift often, but this is to be expected in smaller, growing companies that are driving innovation.
