No Feedback - Paralegal Intern Children’s Rights Employee Review

Pros

There is a great team of litigators working at Children's Rights and they do some progressive and crucial work. I was afforded the ability to read cases that the organization was working on.

Cons

If you apply to be a Paralegal Intern do not expect much feedback on your work, which will mainly consist of watching very long senate hearings and creating memos of what was addressed or creating exhibit lists (400+ citations of legal documents). This is an unpaid internship where you are doing work that Paralegals are being paid to do. I only reported to Paralegals and they generally either seemed disinterested in helping or did not have the time to do so. Most times when I would go to ask for help while working on a project that was going to be used for trial, I would find Paralegals on Facebook. It was upsetting to see they were doing this and being paid, meanwhile I was doing their work unpaid.
