Pros

The vacation time and health insurance were nice.

Cons

Senior management and Human Resources wants absolutely nothing to do with overseeing the managers under them. Bad managers are able to blame department level failures on individual subordinates instead of finding solutions to problems. More than once I pointed out guidelines that endangered patient safety, put confidential patient data at risk or directly broke federal law and was ignored or blamed for instructions I had no control over. Unfortunately I have been informed that Glassdoor policy prohibits employees from providing the specific case number of the grievance that I lodged against the hospital so you have only my word to go on that eventually the hospital was found to be at fault and did everything in its power to resist having to change their policy until they were threatened with fines. Beyond that, I have never witnessed nor spoken to anyone else who has any knowledge of a single instance in which a supervisor was told they were in the wrong when an employee tried to resolve an issue internally.
