Pros

I have worked at Chicago OT for 2 years and have really enjoyed this experience! This was my first job out of grad school, and they have a great mentoring program that made me feel confident and able to provide evidence-based practice for my clients. Management is supportive, and includes people who are or once were therapists, as well as business-minded people, so the company is able to thrive while also being sensitive to therapist's schedules and work-life balance. Management also puts on fun events like taco trucks, weekly lunches, happy hours, holiday parties, etc.

Cons

Sometimes you will be really busy in the fall and spring, but this evens out with slower winters and summers.

Pros

I’ve been an occupational therapist at COT for 4 months now and have had nothing short of an amazing experience so far. Pros listed below. - Amazing support from co-workers (OT, PT, SLP, BCBA’s, billing, admin, ABA therapists, etc.) - Great work environment with friendly and supportive co-workers and opportunities for events and socialization outside of work - Constant communication and collaboration with other team members (PT, SLP, BCBA, ABA therapist, etc.) - Opportunities to expand your role as a leader in different projects, within your multidisciplinary team, etc. - Strong relationships with kiddos and their families - Strength-based and play-based therapy sessions within a super fun environment!

Cons

Some days can be long and busy. However, the environment is so great that it usually flies by. This is also the norm for any outpatient therapy clinic.

Pros

As an Occupational Therapy Practice Associate (OTPA), I learned a tremendous amount of information about the field through my experiences working here! OTPAs have a pretty cool privilege of being able to shadow Occupational Therapists during their sessions to get a first-look understanding of what pediatric OT is. We were invited to ask questions, share our opinions, and even participate in the session with the client! Chicago Occupational Therapy emphasizes educating and supporting OTPAs on their journey into becoming future occupational therapists. Shelly, one of the head OTs, led an OTPA group which included monthly meetings that aided our OT learning and school application process. COT is incredible at letting OTPAs have a lot of responsibilities to promote learning and self-efficacy. Responsibilities I personally had were, implementing OT practices in CSTA classrooms, organizing the gross motor room, and leading the social media page. As an aspiring OT, I believe that COT provided me with advantageous knowledge to begin my journey into the field!

Cons

No cons! I loved working here!
