Pros

Flexibility, work-life balance, bring your pet to work, fun activities, free food and snacks, free swag, and nice corporate headquarters.

Cons

Low opportunities for growth in the Accounts Payable/Accounting & Finance if you do not hold a BA or MBA. You need a BA in Accounting or MBA to grow in AP or accounting in general. If you do not have a degree you cannot be accepted to work in Accounting at all and you need credits towards CPA or hold a CPA since this is a public company. Do not even try to grow within the AP department. If you want a 9am-5pm easy job, not looking for growth, just go in and out after 40 hours, and only process invoices, then go for it. It is difficult to learn new tasks as everyone has their own particular task, no cross training or ability to back someone up if out, invoice processing is automated so rarely hands on if you are not a Senior AP specialist, lead or manager. Priority is given to those with degrees and that suck up to management. Also, beware of two team members (one lead and other senior ap specialist) in non-inventory, they are condescending, arrogant, not team players (all about them), and very unprofessional. This side of AP has had high turn over and it's not difficult to point out the obvious problems. If you want to work at Chewy, just go in knowing without a degree you will not get anywhere and an associate's degree does not benefit you. Promotions are nearly impossible unless you have been in the same position 3-5 years or more. Stay away or apply to work at another department. The company as a whole is great with great benefits.

Pros

Some perks such as pet adoption reimbursement, sort of flexible schedule, learning opportunities.

Cons

We have transitioned into the Chewy family recently and it started out promising but has quickly become quite the opposite. Management put in place to oversee the business (1 or 2 in particular) have been nothing but degrading and nasty to people - for things that were out of our hands due to direction of previous management. They did a reorg recently which had a lot of questionable moves and claimed they want to go deeper in expertise but that is not the case here. There are many people in roles that they shouldn’t be. The reorg also left many people in lower roles than what their actually doing, probably to avoid paying appropriately. We are also being held to different standards than other parts of the business in terms of the quality of output - We’re producing better but it’s still not good enough. They claim to be getting us more resources but we have not seen that yet. They hired one marketing leader but what we need is a true GM and proper support staff to execute things.not only “leaders”.
