Pros

- While it definitely varies school-to-school, the atmosphere at my location was generally positive. - IF you get good teachers, there's flexibility to be creative. - Curriculum is above average. - Professional development opportunities (while very limited) exist.

Cons

- There is always drama between employees that management isn't equipped to handle. - corporate only cares about the bottom dollar. - As an assistant principal I ended up running the school because the principal chose to come in at noon since she "didn't take a lunch and worked until 6". But when the school met the budget plan 4 quarters in a row, SHE got a monitary bonus for the work I did. - Pay is not even close to a living wage. - Barely any vacation (1 week after a year, 2 weeks after 5 years, 3 weeks after 10 years) and no sick time (2-3 days a year). - often required to come to work even if sick.
