Pros

Samsung is their ONE & ONLY client.

Cons

4 employment contracts in 12 months - I first joined Cheil in July. The Management promised to offer me a permanent position when the New Year comes. - I was offered a 2nd contract by Sept. I was advised to wait and hold on till CNY, with the reason that the Singapore HQ office had insufficient funds to hire me. - 2 weeks before the New Year, the CFO offered me a 3rd contract in the pantry. No reason was provided. According to him, the company will offer me a full time position after CNY. This offer was again made verbally. - After CNY, I asked the HR about my employment status. The CFO approached me with a full-time position from another team that isn’t related to my role, but requires me to work with the digital team in Sg. - I attended the interview with Sg digital team despite the shock. There was no news or updates after the interview. - I was offered my 4th contract. - Due to mental and emotional exhaustion, I resigned before my contract ends. I can no longer take any nonsense given by this company. - This company takes full advantage of fresh grads and interns w/o the basic benefits i.e. EPF, SOCSO, MC, and AL – which is against the Employment Act 1955 in Malaysia. Contradicting events - Though being told “the Singapore HQ office has insufficient funds to hire me”, the CFO managed to present to the staff on the profit the company made in just a quarter alone during town hall meeting: hundreds of millions ringgit. - They hired a new digital team consisting of 8 people throughout the year (which doesn’t exist when I first joined) and launched multiple big campaigns. - The staff got their annual bonus and increments. - To all the employees being exploited during covid, I hope you play your part – voice out and file a complaint. Know your rights and get your money back. Late salary payment - Throughout my 12 months here, half of the time I received my salary payment late. You get paid not 1 or 2 days late, but 2 weeks late - You have to chase after the HR for your pay each month. - The HR was required to go to give her statement in the EPF HQ. She challenged the EPF legal team by telling them to proceed with the investigation. If only the company is at fault, then they will pay accordingly. - I received my SOCSO payment about RM 900+ after 4 months and EPF reimbursement about RM 8.6k after 8 months. All in all, it sums up to RM 9.5k. - Don't bother complaining to the HR. The HR is on the company's side. Unless you’re willing to go through the trauma I’ve gone through, intern/work somewhere. If you insist to join and come out a survivor/hero, be my guest. - I dropped 4kg upon leaving Cheil.

Pros

Medical, vision, dental, and overall health care coverage is great

Cons

no cons regarding health care. There are two types: high deductible and low deductible. If you choose high deductible you will pay almost nothing

Pros

well paid, cool coworkers, interesting projects occasionally

Cons

favoritism is big here, a lot of the CD's can't actually give good direction and regularly tank our chances for pitches
