Pros

- Interesting tech stack - Engineering teams are relatively free to choose the tools that they use - Good opportunities for career development - Good but not market leading package overall - Great work life balance

Cons

- Commercial sells features before they are ready or even built & promises delivery dates without involving the actual engineers who will build stuff - London office doesn't have any food in it other than nuts 🥲 - Good senior people have been replaced by external candidates multiple times - Executives are seemingly getting more disconnected from employees as the company grows - Complete inflexibility about 'flexible' working arrangements, if you can't do the mandated days then you have to leave - Spent 1 year being extremely vague about what the return to the office would look like and then implemented a company wide policy that not many people wanted

Dear colleague, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on your experience with us over the past few years. It's so good to see you've enjoyed opportunities for career development and experienced a good work life balance during your time with us. And, we want to acknowledge the frustrations you’ve shared. At Checkout.com we will soon be moving to a hybrid way of working, where most of our teams split their time working between the office and home. And you’re right, we’ve allocated days for departments to promote collaboration across our teams and help us capacity plan. We also have people who are in fully remote roles, and there will be exceptions for fully remote working options. While we’ve tried to keep communication on this topic as open and transparent as possible, it’s clear we need to improve here. We, too, are navigating uncharted waters, trying new things and are learning as we go, so thank you for your feedback. Mostly though, we can’t wait to get our colleagues back together and are looking forward to welcoming our people back to our offices over the coming months. Thank you for going into such detail with your feedback; we take your comments about the other elements of your experience seriously and have shared these with the relevant teams. We wish you all the best and if there's anything else you'd like to add or share, please feel free to email people.acquisition@checkout.com. Thanks again, Kerry (Chief People Officer)

Pros

Good salary, thats about it

Cons

Toxic work culture, they want you to work from 6 am to 9pm. If you do not speak french or are not french you will feel like an outsider. Favoritism is big here, manager have their favorites and will feed them inbounds. Very hard to get approval to go to conferences, and there is no ROI, longer reps hold on to bigger name merchants for years even though they are not having any impact, and no one does anything about it.
