Pros
The people that end up working at this company are fantastic.
Cons
This is one of the most toxic work environments that I have ever been a part of. Yes, this is a start up and start ups have limitations around salary and benefits. You can expect to make a lower than average salary but that's not the problem. The problem is that the CEO Jim Schimpf runs this company on the backs of his employees, through nonsensical toxic positivity. He would routinely say things like "I have you guys park in this certain parking garage so you have to walk past a bunch of homeless people to come in so you're more grateful for what you have". He would often comment on peoples weight or use an Asian accent to share a story about a local popular restaurant. He thinks that his tone-deaf motivational speeches a couple of times a year will be so inspiring that his entire staff, being paid less than a livable wage, will continue to serve him mindlessly. He sets the tone for what is happening at this company but he isn't the only problem. This product is truly terrible. He is so egotistical, he is unable to hear about how this product is falling behind. If you work in this industry, it is easy to see that AI is no longer groundbreaking. He will gaslight you into thinking everything is great while the clients of this company are actively struggling to get any use out of this product. I genuinely feel bad for the current employees at this company that have been sold a dream to create something great that will never be great because the CEO of the company cannot receive any feedback, even if it is direct from their staff or clients. This makes this tool almost impossible to sell and Chattr's sales record speaks for itself. For the salary you will be offered at this company, you can easily find something comparable elsewhere. If you are considering a role here, I would strongly advise you to ask how much their team has sold in the last year. I would strongly encourage you to look at how many employees have come and gone in the last two years.
