Pros

- Tends to hire internally, which can be good for upward mobility if you are willing to shift into a different career path - PTO accrues at 8.0 hours a pay period after 5 years employed - Mission driven culture can be very fulfilling - Supportive of diversity

Cons

- This wasn't really an issue in my team, but I noticed that there seems to be a lot of mistrust between managers and employees of other teams, which often lead to HR complaints, negative-talk, and micro-management - Pre-covid there was no work from home policy for anyone - Annual merit increase is capped at 3% and managers are discouraged from giving employees high enough scores to make it to 3% - Leadership often loses interest in initiatives mid-way and shifts focus to new initiatives that have competing resource requirements - Directors and other sponsors frequently flipped on key decisions, which would cause confusion as to how to move forward - Although here are women in some leadership positions, it feels very much like a boys club at the top - Negative work environment can get overwhelming at times and contribute to overall dissatisfaction - I was once in a meeting (all college-educated women) where an executive (male) was asked to share our department's roadmap for the upcoming year, and his response was "Oh, don't worry about that. If I showed it to you, it would just make your heads spin." Wow.

Pros

Compensation and benefits were pretty decent. They gave little raises here and there.

Cons

I got hired for one job and ended up doing something completely different. The turnover rate was extremely high somebody was always leaving. It wasn't enough people to do the job. Really wasn't any opportunity for growth. Job was cool until they started to micromanage. You have to do a lot of extra work and although the pay was decent it wasn't enough to do all those job duties. The one thing I didn't like was they didnt pay my PTO out which I earned.
