Pros

Great pay and benefits negotiated by the local 340 union. You could be making 6 figures with overtime considered. Lots of support in the field from other senior technicians and technical support line if needed. Ability to transfer to other roles in the company. Unlimited OT if desired. Take home work vehicle and tools provided. Work dispatched to laptop so no need to drive to your shop everyday. No on call shift. No layoffs.

Cons

Poor work/home balance. You will have to work mandatory overtime for at least 6-7 years until you have enough seniority. You will also have to work odd hours (better shift choices with seniority) and pick your vacation time many months in the future which makes planning a vacation stressful. Management is not the best and technicians often feel like just a number at the end of the day. You will also be required to respond to emergency gas and CO related calls even if it's 5 minutes to the end of your 8-12 hour shift. Gas leak emergency sometimes required backbreaking procedures (bar hole testing). Ever changing policies which tend to make tech's lives harder. Crew meetings are often centered around sales and micromanaging.

Pros

Good 401k Matching , Work from home .

Cons

No downtime . Calls are back to back the whole shift . 18.50 an hour . They require that you sell on 5% of your calls so if you are selling there will be coaching side by side phone calls and write ups for not selling
