Pros

Location of NYC, can easily be a 9-5 job.

Cons

For a think tank that prides itself on "cutting edge" research on diversity and inclusion, this org does not practice what it preaches with respect to its own organizational culture. This is true for both CTI as well as for HCP (the consulting arm of the think tank), but be prepared to experience layers and layers of politics, nepotism, power tripping, and exclusion of minority employees in career advancement. The organization is biased to support caucasian females with no regard to women or men of color. Huge disparity in pay structure (the CEO makes over 200K for a tiny non-profit in nyc.. really?) with very little career advancement opportunities unless you're willing to kiss up to the CEO. Employees are discouraged from speaking up freely because leadership is very resistant to objective criticism and change. PS: If the CEO likes you, she will make you write her daughter's college application. This place is a joke and a disgrace to the mission it claims to work towards.

Pros

HCP is small, agile, and therefore you hit the floor running. The employees are young, smart and eager. Everyone builds strong relationships with themselves and their clients, making the internal experience pleasant.

Cons

Brand recognition of the consulting arm is still growing. However, the con is not here to stay - soon to change given good track record of performance.
