Pros
What is wonderful about this company is the flexibility to manage one's own schedule. This is especially important to managing a healthy work/life balance. Unfortunately, this is the only positive aspect of working here.
Cons
The challenges to working at CHD are numerous. Perhaps the most challenging is the lack of good management and leadership. Director spends a lot of time and resources putting out fires rather than addressing problems directly and working with employees to find effective solutions. Training and adequate clinical support is virtually non-existent, resulting in clinician burnout and high employee turnover rates. Our This management style also seems to limit the personal growth of its employees. Rules and policies seem to apply differently to different people. This is difficult to observe as sometimes good employees are penalized while people who skirt their responsibilities are rewarded. Our documentation rate is abysmal (probably a reflection of poor organization and training). Salaries are inconsistent, varying widely, regardless of number of years experience. Benefits are minimally basic, very little time off, no sick or personal days, scant retirement and low tuition reimbursement. Medical insurance seems decent in comparison to other non-profits in the area.
