Pros

They do have a great time off - sick and vacation plus benefits.

Cons

Centene has a mission statement that they fail to meet on every level. Literally every bullet point of that statement is not even close to being true. The company does not want to spend any time actually helping anyone, follow the script, on to the next one. They have written the compassion and care right out of the interaction. The company is routing the sales calls to outside contractors instead of the inside sales team and trying to make everyone believe it is a telephone issue. Our calls have been "misrouted" since July, insult our intelligence by having us "report" the so called problem each time it happens. Every single day, 20 times a day since July and they still need tracking? Okay then.... It is cheaper to have sales go thru a subcontracted source rather than an in house W2 sales team. Are we supposed to believe that a multibillion-dollar company cannot correct improperly routes calls for almost 7 months? That is ridiculous! The writing was the wall when they eliminated the commission on PDP plans for ALL agents and stopped paying all residuals to agents that have been loyal to their clients and Centene for years. I guess Sarah London needs another couple million dollars for her annual bonus, or they need more managers to create bogus problems to put the squeeze on the sales team, hoping they will quit rather than be laid off. Think of the severance money they will save. Maybe they can take some of that money and use it for a customer service team that can actually help the members when they call. It is just a complete mess. I expected so much more.

Pros

I loved the work and for 6 years was happy with what I did. I knew I made a difference and did my job well. Not many has the same skill set I did and there was always work to do.

Cons

1. It's an old white boys club. I say that as a white individual. It sucks that's how MFN rolls. They say they value diversity but they don't. They will have a token diverse person in an exec role but they're there to be a face, not make any changes or impact. 2. They pay really well but that hurts when you leave. 3. They layoff the good people and keep the undereducated white males. Why? See #1 above. 4. They don't want you if you are female and over 40. Think I'm lying? See the number of females 40+ who got hit in the January "reorganization." 5. HR is a joke. Talent acquisition couldn't find their rear ends with both hands and a map. So many excuses on why they didn't do their jobs. 6. MFN said the HealthNet employees needed to learn the Centene way and the Centene way would prevail. He lied. 7. They never entertained the idea of working from home. At all. Even a 25% WFH option would cut costs and improve morale.
