Pros

Somewhat remote, pay was decent

Cons

I feel like I got the short end of the stick with this company. The job I applied for was listed as fully remote. During the interview, the supervisor mentioned that I would be going into the office one day a week. I told her I did not want to do that, as the office is pretty far from my house and the job posting indicated fully remote. They ended up offering me the position and asked if I would be willing to come into the office once every two weeks. I thought about it and agreed, as long as I would be remote the other days. My second week there, I'm on a Teams meeting with my supervisor and she is introducing me to the the big bosses and she tells them I will be coming into the office three to four days a week and the other lead says I will too because she has done her time and it's "the new girls turn" to come into the office. I was a little caught off guard and shocked. After the meeting I told my supervisor this was not the arrangement and that we only agreed upon coming into the office once every two weeks because of the distance to which she replied, "Things change". I was not impressed with the training either, they literally stuck me with whoever, whenever as long as the supervisor didn't have to deal with me. To top it off, one of the ladies I was shadowing was screen sharing with me while I watched and her and another coworker were talking about how I had to go into the office and they never did. I just felt like they deceived me to get me in the door.

Pros

I loved the work and for 6 years was happy with what I did. I knew I made a difference and did my job well. Not many has the same skill set I did and there was always work to do.

Cons

1. It's an old white boys club. I say that as a white individual. It sucks that's how MFN rolls. They say they value diversity but they don't. They will have a token diverse person in an exec role but they're there to be a face, not make any changes or impact. 2. They pay really well but that hurts when you leave. 3. They layoff the good people and keep the undereducated white males. Why? See #1 above. 4. They don't want you if you are female and over 40. Think I'm lying? See the number of females 40+ who got hit in the January "reorganization." 5. HR is a joke. Talent acquisition couldn't find their rear ends with both hands and a map. So many excuses on why they didn't do their jobs. 6. MFN said the HealthNet employees needed to learn the Centene way and the Centene way would prevail. He lied. 7. They never entertained the idea of working from home. At all. Even a 25% WFH option would cut costs and improve morale.
