Pros

I met some lovely and very talented people during my time here. The Waterloo office was a great improvement on the previous office. My team and direct manager were top notch, but from the looks of other reviews, it seems I got lucky on the latter. Senior leadership were steadily improving their communication with the rest of employees, but everything was very sales focused with little regard for any real creativity or innovation. Despite this, the CEO seems to be trying to steer the company in a better direction than the last. If you're looking for a couple of years experience in the marketing sector out of uni, this is a good place to learn. But don't make the same mistake I did and stay too long!

Cons

While I generally enjoyed my time here, the longer I stayed the more flaws I could see in the general management, culture and workings. When I started here, I was promised ample training and career progression, having only a few years of experience under my belt. I was foolish enough to believe it! There is zero progression. In fact, if you're half decent at your job, you're given extra work to do for no additional compensation. My role changed massively over the years and my job title/description stayed exactly the same despite yearly performance reviews effectively backing this up. No training was offered to me, and asking for it was shouting at a brick wall - the answer was always 'no', with no accompanying explanation. The most ironic part of all of this is how much they seem to keep advising clients about the merits of progression and training while not actually practicing what they preach themselves. My salary also barely changed in 4 years, and was hardly generous in the first place. They talk about being a global company and 'global leaders' in their field but have a handful of people in the US and shut down their Singapore operations fairly soon after I'd started. My senior line manager had spoken to me only twice and likely couldn't pick me out of a line up by the time I left. Two and a half years in, I was asked by another what my name was and whether I was new to the company. Aside from the pandemic period, staff turnover here was/is massive. Should have been a red flag for me at the start but I was naive and barely out of uni. Promotions seem to be given to those who suck up to senior management, leaving those who keep their head down and get on with their jobs without a look in. Centaur Media were constantly banging the diversity drum with very little evidence to show for it - almost all senior staff are middle aged white men who then hog those positions and create brand new, unnecessary ones for all their friends. So many new and seemly random senior management roles were added while I was there, but those who left crucial, but lower rung positions were often not replaced. I would not have stayed as long as I did at Centaur Media had the pandemic not occured.

Pros

I have loved working here, nice small community that has been built. All employees are great to work with and there is always something different going on.

Cons

Some of the work is repetative, but that is standard for most office jobs.

Pros

NONE! This place is no longer what it was. The wrong people have been put into positions to hire and fire at free will.

Cons

NONE!This place is no longer what it was. Decisions that will HUGELY impact the business are now being made by singular individuals with PERSONAL vendettas who are clearly not qualified in an attempt to cover their own incompetence, and laziness and to cover the incompetence and laziness of their friends without a care of how these decisions will actually impact the business as long as THEY keep their job and paycheck. Management cater to their friends, making decisions to benefit these friends and if you don’t fit that mold you will be pushed out.
