Pros

Some pleasant people. Work is easy, if that's your bag. Facility is nice now that the most gaudy of the "artwork" has been removed.

Cons

Young people swayed by CM billing itself as "biotech": you won't learn anything of value here. You'll be paid little, treated like a child, and perform very routine tasks that amount to moving fluid from point A to B. Data is interpreted by someone else. You are a thumb to operate a pipettor. Management is pretty horrid - lots of blame games, inter-company feuding over nothing. Pettiness. Lack of drive - CM's main products are super-simple to manufacture, and have a ridiculous margin, so management is complacent to let crappy practices continue, and not worry much about the quality system to which they only play lip-service - this is demoralizing as it forces one to do things in a way they know makes no sense/is silly, because it's the "CM Way", and change is scary. HR is a major cog in the rumor mill and is fairly adversarial.

Pros

Flexibility and benefits, true work life balance.

Cons

SMEs can be difficult to pin down. Relocating during a huge project. Site closures lay offs in February 2026.

Pros

-amazing team of people within R&D -hands-on lab experience -benefits are decent -a lot of female representation in leadership -parent company has a lot of interesting opportunities

Cons

-does anyone outside of R&D actually think about potential setbacks (rhetorical)? Science doesn't care about your bottom line -commercial/marketing/sales does not care about innovation. They want whatever will put money into their pockets immediately -commercial/marketing/sales is so completely out of touch with what good and ethical science really is, that it's scary sometimes (and that goes all the way up to the head of the department)
