Pros

I wish I had one.

Cons

Where to start... -No upward mobility -Many unethical practices -They open new schools every year without proper planning and without adequate facilities and materials -No pay raises for non-teaching positions -Extremely high turnover in all positions (teachers included) -Inner-circle type of work environment (if you're not in, you should be careful) -Terrible culture throughout the organization. Very dissatisfied employees; overworked, stressed out, and angry (organization is to blame) -Administration rules by fear and intimidation -Unrealistic expectations -Administration always makes last minute decisions and expects implementation yesterday -Very disorganized -Principals do not have proper administrative credentials and do not make any independent decisions

Pros

Best reasons to work at Celerity are: 1. Supportive! Principals and other admin staff are supportive and approachable 2. Positive School Culture- Admin works hard to create a welcoming space for teachers, students and parents 3. Collaborative environment- Many opportunities to work with colleagues and colleagues are happy to collaborate 4. Opportunities for upward mobility

Cons

Some of the downsides: 1. The amount of work can be challenging.Organization and time management are key to survival, as well as working wth others. 2. Depending on your location, faciities are not necessarily "aesthetically pleasing". The staff make up for that though.

Pros

The only positive about this school is that the staff that work directly with the children are very caring and go the extra mile to meet the children's needs.

Cons

First of all, the administration of this school likes to micro-manage the staff. They also will one week make protocol changes and then change those decisions the next week. Then they blame the staff for not understanding what is expected of them. The administration belittles staff in front of the children showing no solidarity and providing a hostile work environment. Also, the staff is SIGNIFICANTLY under paid. When compared with current rates for positions at other schools, Celerity is about $5.00 below the standard. The children are expected, by administration, to be "Creative" when playing on the playground but aren't provided with equipment or grassy areas to do so. So naturally, there are behavioral issues with the children due to a lack providing them with an outlet for excess energy. The administration, blames the staff for such behavioral issues, claming that they are inept at managing these behaviors. The staff is constantly being asked to take on more work and not being compensated for that work. The administration tends to refuse to hire more people to share the load, even after people quit. The staff is always being interrupted during breaks and lunchtime to attend to issues that would be handled if there were more staff on hand. It is an expectation of administration that staff step away from their "duty-free" break times to take care of issues and this is not only unrealistic but also ILLEGAL.
