Pros
There will be variation between labs but in general CeMM is quite well-equipped. There are several in-house facilities like the biomedical sequencing facility, proteomics/metabolomics, automated chemical screening platform, and automated imaging microscope (Opera Phenix). There is a strong collaborative environment, where multiple labs within CeMM and beyond often work together. The pay for pre-doctoral fellows is calculated based of the cost of living calculated by the Austrian Academy of Sciences as well, so it did scale accordingly to inflation the past few years I worked at CeMM. HR and IT are also quite responsive and generally supportive. In my case at least, I did not face any problems.
Cons
There was a high turnover in staff managing some of the facilities in the last two or so years, which did lead to some difficulty for some of my colleagues to make use of in-house facilities.
