Pros

I've worked in design my whole career with teams of all types of industry and sizes, however, I have never come across a team or company culture that is as passionate, laser-focused, and value-driven as Castle. I left the comfort of my home country New Zealand to work for Castle in San Francisco, but the company has been super supportive in making sure my transition into this city smooth and comforting. Everyone has a deep understanding of the problems our customers are facing and are able to provide highly intelligent solutions to meet their needs (just the kind of smart and passionate people I like to look with/for).

Cons

We are still reasonably early and growing super rapidly, teams and their dynamics are still organically forming and new processes are being introduced on a regular basis to support the growth which can be exciting but also hectic.

Pros

There's a lot of good energy throughout the team. Everyone is super sharp and driven towards a common goal. Leadership has done a really great job at trusting everyone on the team to take chances, innovate, and grow without micro-managing, and it has created a culture of teamwork where everyone feels a shared sense of responsibility and is quick to jump in and help get anything done. There's a sense of overall excitement in general in the current direction and what's to come. The tech and product feels like it's being built the "right" way without cutting corners for short term gains.

Cons

It's an earlier stage startup - about 20 people, recently raised Series A - so depending on your preferred work style, some may enjoy more structured environments where daily processes and tasks are predefined. As a young, quickly growing business/organization, these things are still being developed on the fly. If you're looking to be a part of building something, this is a perfect opportunity and extremely exciting, but maybe not for everyone.
