Pros

Absolutely zilch. If I have to say something, then I am always paid on time with no issues.

Cons

I truly do not know where to begin. You know that comic of the rowboat with one rower and the executives at the top? "I don't get it. After all the budget cuts to streamline the workforce, why are we not moving faster?" Yeah, that sums up Cart.com pretty well. The executive team has absolutely no idea what to do, won't work together, and doesn't seem to care about the company's overall success. They are so lucky the market is terrible right now, but as soon as things turn around people will be leaving in droves. They have ground us into the dirt and underpaid us, not given merits and absolutely abysmal bonuses for years (I'm talking about being given a few hundred dollars and told to be grateful), and yet still have the audacity to ask everyone for more: more of their time, more of their energy, more of their soul. If you're a Vice President or higher, well then congrats :clap clap: you're in the club. If not, well then literally no one cares about you. You can put in 3, 4, 5 years at this company, and they will lay you off like you just started yesterday. It is just soul crushing for the executives to show absolutely no humanity time and time again.

Pros

Remote first. During the glory days there were a lot of greenfield projects and bright individuals bringing energy and new ideas to the table. Some of my closest connections in software engineering came about from working here. Before the company folded its hand and leaned into acquired businesses I grew quite a bit as a programmer.

Cons

The outlook of the company went downhill fast. The company folded its efforts into other businesses that they bought out instead of chasing the dream of being innovative and new. CEO constantly said we were shattering records and exploding in growth even though your talented co workers were just laid off days prior. The main revenue stream that they acquired was an outdated legacy product and was filled with toxic leadership, so toxic that some teams had to turn in a report card weekly with everything they did for each day at 15 minute intervals.
