Pros

One of the only agencies in town with decent clients and good creative work. Some really wonderful people. Great bar across the street. Good resume builder.

Cons

Poor performance and behavior is tolerated for legacy employees and leaders due to their “strong relationships” with clients, which forces young talent out the door. A cool/hip culture is touted and while yes, the company has more progressive benefits than MN corporate and occasionally gives out free booze, it feels like an old boys club mixed with the set of Mean Girls. A leader who’s department’s name rhymes with shmedia has had massive turnover due to his preferential treatment and cruel attitude, yet no changes have been made. The department is carried by younger employees who are overworked and underpaid while leaders work 20 hour weeks and barely know how to work their email. Promotions are few and far between and yearly raises are laughable.

Cons

So much of what was unique and worth working for the agency has been gutted by the merger between IPG and Omnicom. The cuts of the accounting team in Omaha leaves more room for mistakes and delays in billing. Also the current employees are filling in the gaps now while already being stretched beyond what is even remotely close to being a balanced work flow. No regard for employees holding the departments together while top executives pat themselves on the back for pretending to care about them and roll in the promotions for whomever isn’t too overqualified/overpaid in their eyes. Obviously can’t know for sure, but once you spend even just a little time talking to leadership, it leaves a bitter taste considering their lack of perspective on how most employees (besides the ones vying for their approval) see them now with the corporate overlords calling all the shots with no end in sight.
