Pros

I wish I could say something positive

Cons

I recently had a preliminary interview call with two recruiters for an RPO role, and unfortunately, the experience was highly disappointing. Throughout the conversation, they seemed disinterested in listening to what I had to share about my 10 years of experience. Whenever I tried to explain my work history, I was constantly interrupted, making it feel as though they wanted me to speak randomly without any meaningful discussion. They raised concerns about my job switches, which I explained were a result of the current unpredictable job market. Instead of understanding my perspective or focusing on what I could bring to the role, they stuck to a script and came across as condescending. When I asked clarifying questions, such as details about the interview process, they simply mentioned "three rounds" but had no idea what those rounds would entail. This lack of preparation was concerning, especially for a recruitment-related role. Their communication lacked professionalism, and when I pressed for more details, they became flustered and defensive, turning to a blame game instead of addressing my concerns. As someone who has hired and led teams in almost all of my previous roles, including my current one, I can confidently say I would never hire these individuals for my team. Given the nature of the RPO role, where I would potentially interact with these individuals regularly, I do not feel confident about working with people who are unwilling to engage in respectful dialogue or learn from their mistakes. It was an unfortunate encounter, and while I have dealt with entitled individuals in the past, this experience stood out as particularly negative.
