Pros
Your coworkers become your work family, and always have your back. The manager is always available for questions or concerns. Work 3 days a week. Relatively easy to plan errands or vacations around your schedule. Accrued PTO time. Willing to cross train you for front office, medical assistant, and X-ray tech, so it’s great resume experience.
Cons
Your 12 hr shifts become 13 or 14 hr days on busy days. Pay is not great, and I dislike the health insurance plans offered. Higher ups love to create more lists to check off and new protocols to go through as if we don’t have enough crap to do. They are also obsessed with the patient satisfaction score and making money, and will crack down on you if you slip on either. Patients can get pretty irritated when they have a long wait time because of appointments before them— I don’t understand why we have appointments to begin with. We should be walk in basis only. You’re typically understaffed and stressed out.
